U14 Boys Win Feile na nGael

St maurs  hosted the  div 4 hurling in some style on Sat 17th May. The club was decked out brilliantly, the sun was shining, the barbq lit and our hospitality was in top gear. The day started with a parde of the teams All Ireland Style follwing the national flag. The anthem was piped by Cillain Bissett and the action got underway at 10.30.

St Maurs u14 team hurled suberbly and won their 3 groups games by healthy margins.

Results
Maurs 3-6 v Rialto Gaels 1-3
Maurs 5-8 fingallians 1-2
Maurs 5-3 parnells 0-5

Next up was the semi final and it was here we played our best hurling of the weekend and the result was never in doubt

Semi final Maurs 7-8 st peregrines 1-4

Final day was in St Peregrines ground and a large contingent of supporters from Rush fileld the stand. The opposition was Rialto Gaels whom we'd beaten saturday but who had improved through the feile knocking 12 goals past finbarrs in the semi final.

Maurs conceded and early goal but bounced back with some great points from play and placed balls to lead at halftime 1-7 to 1-2. the wind was picking up and now playing with the breeeze, Rialto goaled and pushed on to lead 2-8 to 1-9 with just minutes left. Then a stunning series of events, a brialliant save by Aaron Lacey in goals followed by a goal from Stephen Bogan and point by Ciraan Archer put maurs back in front. There was a nervous finale through 5 mins of injury time but some heroic defending meant the boys from Rush hung on to win out.

St Maurs 2-10  Rialto Gaels 2-09
