U/8s in great form
Finbarrs 2 St Maurs 5
(Evan Mackle 2 Cameron Coffey 2 Sean Farren 1)
After a slow start and 2-0 St Maurs midfield got a grip of the game with Sean O'Dea and Cameron Coffey pushing St Maurs forward. Edan Hurley, Nicholas Heffernan and Conor Barry looked particularly strong at the back and kept Finbarrs at bay in the second half as Evan Mackle, Sean Farren and Cameron Coffey shared the St Maurs scores.
St Finbarrs 0 St Maurs 3
(Colin Dennehy 2 Todd Milne 1)
The game was over by half time as St Maurs dominated from the off. Cian Rock and Eric Carroll controlling affairs. Aaron Reilly and Joseph Flynn tidied up at the back and Aidan Harford cleared his lines superbly throughout. Colin Dennehy and Todd Milne got the scores.
St Finbarrs 1 St Maurs 0
St Maurs were terrific throughout but could not put the ball in the net because of some inspired goalkeeping and defending as Finbarrs held onto an early lead.
St Finbarrs 0 St Maurs 4
(Aaron Reilly 1, Cian Rock 1, Todd Milne 2)
The Maroon Team made it two wins from two with a comprehensive win. Senan Monks was particularly impressive partnering Aaron Reilly in the middle with Dane Whyte-O'Hara getting through his usual workload before going between the posts for the second half. Eoghan Farrell and Cian Rock handled everything that Finbarrs could throw at them.
U/10s blitz visitors
St Maurs 10-6 Na Dubh Ghall 1-0
Best for Maurs : Neil Rock, Cian Daly , Liam Laverty and Ciaran Barry who scored 1-2.
St Maurs showed the benefit of recent training in their game versus Na Dubh Ghall with every player striking from hand and some great hooking and blocking.
Defensively Maurs were rock solid with Ciaran Monks in goal and Alan McGrath, Aran Mehigan and Aaron Clare all on top form in the backs. Neil Rock dominated midfield and scored freely from play or placed ball. The highlight of the game was a brilliant point scored by Conor Comiskey when he pulled first time on a hand pass from Cian Daly.
Both our U/8s and U/10s have worked extreamly hard in recent weeks at coaching and with performances like these its really paying off. Both teams have a very good basic skills level and have a good turnout at coaching which is vital. We wish both teams continued success.
Dublin Hurling stars visit Maurs
The U/9s had a coaching session with Dublin Senior hurlers Kevin Ward and Lian Rushe (who must have felt at home, sorry) . The boys and girls had a friendly arranged with Skerries and Liam and Kevin obliged by doing a session with the players and then coaching them through a game. Well done and thanks to Nigel, Ciaran and Colm for organising the evening. It was a great success and both Liam and Kevin were delighted to see such work being done.
If you have experience of playing Hurling at any level and would like help out with a great group of kids we could do with your help. Hurling is developing well in St. Maurs but the experience of formers players would be a great help to us. Contact any of the Juvenile committee or drop up to club any Tuesday evening from 6.30 as teams will be outside coaching or drop up from 9.30 when juvenile coachs meet.
Best of luck to the Dublin senior hurlers who play Laois on Sunday in Leinster championship.
