St. Maurs 1..20 Naomh Olaf 1..7
The senior team brought their shooting boots to St. Maurs Park on Saturday evening when they hit top gear in this vital league game against Naomh Olaf.
Olaf's have been somewhat of a bogy team for Maurs and it looked like they were out to upset the Rush men again as they took the game to Maurs from the start. The sides exchange early scores and it was point for point until Olafs were awarde a penalty on 22 minutes which was expertly taken to put them 1..5 to 4 points ahead. Maurs responde within a minute as a sweeping move saw Chris Moore fire to Olafs net and points from Moore and Chris Carthy edged Maurs in front at half time by 1..7 to 1..6.
Maurs came out very fired up for the second half and early points from Ciaran Reddin and Carthy put St. Maurs in the driving seat and from there Maurs completley dominated the game with Vinny Whelan, Ronnie McGuire, Niall Walsh and Conor McGuire giving a great display of team work. Mark McGrath and Davy Carrick were both very impressive when introduced and got 5 points between them.
This was an important win for Maurs as it keeps the team in the mix at the top end of the table.
Scores Chris Carthy 0..7. Chris Moore 1..3, Mark McGrath 0..3, Ciaran Reddin 0..2 Davy Carrick 0..1 Julian Sweetman 0..1, Padraig Butterly 0..1 Oisin McGinty 0..2
